This is a really excellent article,

There is one question that I can’t seem to find a clear answer too.

I want to create a website for my service (demand already exists I’m getting requests from it) to create SEO content

But

I also want to have a Substack

Can I use my Substack articles on my website blog so that I can get Google traffic as it seems Substack articles do not rank well for google search?

What is the best way to do this?

Reuse the free content on your Substack to write articles that target keywords on your main domain. Google "What is wifi money" and "wifi money" and look at my two articles and substack ranking on page 1 and/or 2 to see what I mean.

You can then funnel the traffic back and forth between your Substack & website.

Thanks BTO!

I guess the one caveat here is that it has to be local to wherever you are? I live in a med-sized city but close enough to a major city, so thinking I'll just use the major city in my keywords.

Love this. One suggestion: try to structure the agreement so you get paid upon invoicing. We used to invoice at the end of the month, and clients would then take their sweet time paying. Now we invoice on day one of the month upcoming with payment due upon receipt. Many clients we require credit card on file and we just charge them upfront. Only really works if you are on a set retainer or fee structure. But very few clients complain. It dramatically eases your cash flow issues.

Great post BTO. Personally I'm going to take this and roll it out with an S Corp election I'm doing to lower my self employment taxes on 1099 work I was doing anyway. For anyone that gets decent volume as a 1099 S corp elections help you reduce your tax burden by a significant amount.

The S Corp + your system seems like a great way to build a brand and get some inbound to not have to worry about generating clients outbound all the time.

I'd say you're banned from my Substack for spamming my comments
